With the exception of Vettor Pisani (3 sFH13 on Sfl) all of the vessels seem to have made it, and arrived in North Africa between 11 and 23 July (no information on the F-Lighters).

The WD of the 'Weapons and Equipment' staff of Panzergruppe states that on 19 Jan 42 11 7.62cm guns were issued to 90th Light. I have this back to 1 Nov 41 and the earliest mention of these guns is in January. Some French 7.5cm guns are being mentioned earlier.

Looking a bit deeper, I was reminded that the original 1/104 Infantrie Regiment was captured around Halfaya in January 1942.

The 8th M/G Btn was re-named I Bataillon, 104 Schuetzen Reg @10/03/42. This was upgraded to I Bataillon, 104 PzGren Reg @ 05/07/42. Maybe it got a (some) 76.2mm gun(s) at that time?

I have the TO&E for 8. MG Btl for 6 Feb 42. No 76.2mm guns at that time.

What the TO&E shows is that they got them after 6 February.

There were another 14 (at least) 7.62 guns coming on the T.18 convoy and with Atlas in January 42.

As an aside, in November 41 they investigated whether the 7.62 guns could be flown over in Junkers 52, but decided that was impossible.

The french 75mm guns are also very intriguing. I've read some were available but never seen any doc. or picture of them in axis hands. If they had been available for example italians could have done a good use of them as AT/field guns

Afrika-Rgt was supposed to get 24 of them as ATGs.

S.R.155 was supposed to get 60 (sixty) 7.62cm as ATG.

Plus the nine on Sfl for PzJg 605.

But did they? And if so, when? Do we know?

I don't have documents that would cover that. 2 SG report that in a raid on Tmimi-Martuba on 15 March 42 they destroyed one 7.62cm gun and captured the crew. Would maybe be helpful to know who lost that gun?
