Jewish commandos in Syrian campaign

#1

Post by keith A » 05 Apr 2016, 15:48

Can anyone tell me if the Palestinian-Jewish soldiers who took part in the Syrian campaign, acting a a special reconnaissance group were awarded the Africa Star? I would also like to know if members of Wingates Special Night Squads received the General Service Medal from the British Government?

regards

Moshe Dayan lost his eye in combat in Lebanon as part of a mixed recon unit attached to the Australians.

What is more interesting is how the story of just how Dayan lost his eye has changed over the years.

The earliest I remember was that it was lost to an Italian bullet.
