Hitler/German Youth combat units in Yugoslavia?

#1

Post by Ivan Ž. » 16 May 2016, 14:15

Dear everyone,

Has anyone ever heard of a Hitler Youth / German Youth combat unit in Yugoslavia? Did they ever participate in combat against the Partisans?

I am asking for the Hitler Youth / German Youth units as such, not whether for example former members of these organisations ever participated in combat, because they did, as part of a military unit (when they grew up & enlisted in the army), that is known; but did a youth unit fight, and were they supplied with weapons, besides during shooting practise?

Thanks in advance,
Ivan

In Slovenia there were some occasions that HJ was used against partisans, but not quite so often.

Thank you very much, Klemen! I can't say I've heard of any of such cases. Could you write a word or two more about them please?

Cheers,
Ivan

Here I tried to get some info on these HJ units in SLO.

I think I have some partisan reports on HJ, I'll try to find them.

Pozdrav,
Klemen
