Pictures from Yugoslavia 1941-1945: take a look!

While not as known as the pictures from bigger and flashier theatres,these pictures reveal some of the atmosphere around the Yugoslav partisans and the way they fought in the war. Presuming they are far more difficult to come across outside of former Yugoslavia,I'm happy to share it with all the members of the forum,especially with those of non-ex-Yu origin.

FIrst six photos are from "Drugi svjetski rat",Grupa autora:

Tito after being wounded on 9th of June 1943,during the "Operation Schwarz".Man standing next to him is Dr. Ivan Ribar.

Sutjeska gorge ,scene of heavy fighting during the "Operation Schwarz" (smaller picture,front row:Sava Kovacevic,commander of the 3rd Shock Division and Veselin Maslesa,writer and a revolutionary-both found death in the "Fifth offensive").

Often quoted German order,dated Mai 29th,1943: "After succeseful closing of the encirclement,the communists will try to break trough.Order:No male capable of carying weapons is to leave the couldron alive.Check the women in case they are disguised men."
