Good Sources on the Franco-Prussian War?
Good Sources on the Franco-Prussian War?
Any good web-sites or sources for this era? It doesn't seem to be covered much -- especially compared to the US Civil war which occurred less than 10 years earlier, and WWI which followed it by 44 years. There are a few Google Books on the subject from around that era. For example, I was able to find only one YouTube documentary discussing it.

Geoffrey Wawro book is excellent although he does not expand too much beyond the Siege of Paris:

Moltke's account is also interesting:

Try Phil Sheriden's account re Gravelotte and Sedan http://www.shsu.edu/~his_ncp/Sedan.html
and the full text of one of the contemporary histories
https://archive.org/stream/francogerman ... g_djvu.txt
There are also accounts from British observers with both sides in the RUSI journal.

Also "The Fall of Paris" Alistar Horne

Douglas Fermer's "Sedan 1870" and "France at Bay" are good accounts. The latter is one of the few which looks at the continuation of the war after Sedan.
