[quote="Rivet"]So, I've been watching the Cold War documentary
the last few day and have been enjoying it thoroughly. Anyway, there is a scene from the Korean War in which US Army soldiers are using, presumably, captured PPSh-41 submachine guns.
How common was this? I vaguely recall in Hackworth's book About Face
, he mentioned using captured North Korean arms in the "Wolfhounds", but I figured that might be an exception.
You have to be careful using "souvenir" weapons. One good reason not to do it, you don't want to go around sounding like the enemy. I have it on good authority from several WW 2 veterans that using enemy weapons draws fire from your own side.
