@ whiteman : thanksfor showing the "new uniform" pictures , here you can see the silly baret and the pants "in" the non-german boots. (even to wear in the same way by officers)

the next step was always planned : all the so called "red prussian pomp" should be forbidden : paradebelt , sabre , etc.

thanks god, the NVA died in a short cut.

Actually today´s Bundeswehr is wearing exact type of uniform.

actually today s Bundeswehr is also not traditional enough for me. Too many "un-traditional" things.

Many armies went back "to the roots" (russians for example) and some month ago I saw a discussion on a US webpage
about "new" uniform style , but in reality it was not "new" it was a "more traditional" style discussed.

The BW uniform does look nice in itself, but to compare it to the NVA uniform is an insult to the NVA. BW uniforms honestly just look like grey american uniforms to me, taking into consideration the pattern, longer skirting and pocket design (the bottom pockets are just decorated internal pockets, making it much closer to an american jacket).

I personally think it's a shame they didn't redesign the uniforms for a unified Germany, to break away from the cold war look and create a new piece for us collectors.
Searching for Truppenfahrrad parts: Torpedo coaster brake parts, Union-werke headlight, truppenfahrrad handlebars, Torpedo front wheel hub.
