Toyota trucks for US Army Korean War

I just ran across this article and photo today and this is the first time I have ever heard of such a vehicle/arrangement.

I am aware that some Japanese vehicle companies contracted to refurbish WWII vehicles of US manufacture after the war and that some Japanese companies manufactured military vehicles that were somewhat similar to WWII US types after the war.

I was not aware that Toyota apparently supplied 5,000 Toyota developed BM trucks to the US Army and this is the only photo I have been able to find.

Does anyone else here have any other information/photos of this particular purchase??
Edit: I would have to assume these were all LHD and must have been the only such vehicles supplied that way.
