Funeral of Konrad Adenauer

#1

Post by Edward L. Hsiao » 11 Sep 2014, 21:17

Gentlemen,

I knew there were photographs of Wehrmacht veterans in Bundeswehr service wearing their dress uniforms acting as pallbearers for the funeral of German Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. I forgot which websites that had the photos of the funeral. As I understand Admiral Robert Gysae was in some of the photos. Could you help me please?

Sincerely,

Dear Sir,

These generals that acted as pallbearers were from the BGS(German Border Guards). I tried to study their ribbons. None of them were Knight's Cross holders. Probably some were German Cross in Gold Holders.
As I recalled there were some color photos of Adenauer's funeral as well.

Sincerely,

Edward L. Hsiao

Dear Dieter,

That's the color pictures that I was talking about. Thank you. I wonder if their were any other pictures of the funeral that we didn't know of like German state policemen and more German borderguardsmen (BGS) with their decorations especially from WWII?

Sincerely,

Edward L. Hsiao :)
