Postby sisudk on 27 Jun 2012 15:26

Hello again

... sorry to bother the community with yet another translation.

I have found a personal file on a danish volunteer Svend Sørensen

I have specially trouble reading and understanding the notes on: Date of departure and destination ... and: Huomautuksia / notes.

All help greatly appriciated

Best regards

Johnny

Date of departure and destination (i guess...)
Läht. takaisin T:holmaan - Lähtö takaisin Tukholmaan - Departure back to Stockholm

I think the scripture regarding the date is 16/3 - but my ability to decipher these hieroglyphs is rather limited.

And i can't make out what the Notes section says... Can't make out anything that would make sense.

Hello Vaeltaja

Thank you very much. I could'nt make any sense of the two sentences.

Regarding the note. I think it says ... Pro Finlandia + ...

The note is most certain referring to the motivation of Svend Sørensen for becoming a volunteer.

Thanks

Johnny

Hi Johnny,

Dunno if this makes sense but I read the notes:

Nuotiolle [To the camp fire] Pro Finlandia + Palojärvi [Possibly Väinö Palojärvi, Finnish military attache in Stockholm]

Regards,
Markus

Yeah, i read it 'Nuotiolle' too which does not really make any sense to me. It is also a surname though ('Nuotio') so it could be just archival reference. On the other hand P in 'pro' does not match the P in the Porajärvi in any way which left me thinking if it could be 'ß' instead. No idea really.

Maybe the form filler misspelled Pro Finlandia into Bro Finlandia.

Hello

Thank you all ...

I think it makes sense if we compare the date of departure and destination with the note. He would have returned to Stockholm probably to the same place which had arranged his departure to Finland. The Danish Volunteer movement had btw. an office in Stockholm with a Mr. Pajula attached. Pro Finlandia could be the name of the movemnet!

Best regards
