Photos of Finnish territories after autumn of 1944?

#1

Are there publicly available any photos of former Finnish Karelia taken by Soviets after the cease fire and Finnish evacuation in autumn of 1944? Either in books or on Internet? **Daydeaming about the equivalent of sa-kuva.fi. :D **

There exists old buildings from Finnish era in Viipuri and Sortavala, but in countryside (almost) everything seems to be in ruins or completely disappeared. So are there photos taken when Finnish buildings were still standing?

Unfortunately there is no russian equivalent of SA-kuva. Nevertheless there is a number of local history forums, where you can find something interesting (if you don't afraid of Russian)
For example, Viipuri set is located here:

etc

The first known Finnish photographs of Viipuri taken after 1944 were by Augusti Tuhka. They were published as book "Viipuri tänään" (Kivi 1954). Recently Juri Shikalov has published a book in Finnish containing many photographs of Vyborg called "Viipurin kadotetut vuodet 1940-1990" (Tammi 2013).

There also exists a Russian booklet about the issue, but with only about a dozen photos from both 1940-41 and 1944-50 times

Thanks, but "Finnish" pages of waralbum.ru are largely based on SA-kuva and have no postwar photos, as requested by topicstarter.

Thanks! terijoki-spb.ru seems to be about Karelian Isthmus. How about other parts of former Finnish Karelia?

By the way, how do you make Firefox to show all Russian letters correctly on Linux?

In some pages, like
http://terijoki-spb.ru/f3/viewtopic.php ... b35dde3f47

some letters are shown as black diamonds in a deck of cards, with white question mark inside it, sometimes followed by . or , or < or '

I use Unicode.

All letters were ok on my screen in your linked page.
I have Unicode on and "Automaatinen tunnistus" off.
