I think Harri got Stalin right, but the other, I surmise, was a Finnish communist (or a fellow-traveller) whose name I don't recall.

An informed guess: was Stalin saying this to Yrjö Leino?

Harri and Mikko both have one name right, but the second man is not correct. At least not correct with the book source I have.

I'd love to give a hint, but.. I don't know how to give it without making this too easy. The other person was indeed an SKDL man, and held an important post in the goverment succeeding Paasikivi. Whom ever gives this name first wins :)

Yes, that is correct. Stalin and Mauno Pekkala.

Osmo Jussilas article "Stalin and the Finns" in Tuntematon Sota book there are few other quotes too that Stalin
had said about Finland. I've always been surprised how Stalin seems so lenient towards Finland post world
war 2.

Anyways, over to you Mikko.

Ok, thanks. This time my question, hopefully, is a tougher call.

When the Finnish Defence Forces were mobilized in the Summer of 1941, only one reserve officer failed to obey his call-up orders. Who was he?

I'll give this one a try:

Is it Lieutenant Arvo Turtiainen. Later also known as "Stadin Arska"?

Absolutely correct. So much for my hope this one would be tougher.

Over to you, and congratulations!

Ok, Im running a bit low on good questions, but here's one a bit tongue in cheek question:

What was Finnish army's "secret weapon" against Radiomines (Finnish: radiomiina) shortly after reconquest of Viipuri in 1941? :D

Correct! :D Thats right, they broadcasted Säkkijärven Polkka nonstop on certain frequency to disrupt the signals sent that would
explode the mine devices.

Over to you, Mikko.

IIRC no Soviet radiomines exploded after the start of broadcasting Säkkijärven Polkka, but that wasn't result of the Finnish radio interference, but malfunctions etc problems with the Soviet mines.

Regards, Juha

P.S. this had nothing to do with the "quiz winning", go ahead Mikko.

Name (at least) two WWII-era generals whose sons reached the full four-star rank in the Finnish Defense Forces.
