You've really found an interesting weapon Juha. Look at that point-blank sight. Great!
No idea of the model, though. But the area at the time those photos were taken weren't very cosy.

Yes indeed! I'm also looking forward in hearing what gun this is.
Re: The official AHF Winter & Continuation War quiz thread
Had to start figuring out this one. Now after some research I say: Solothurn S 18-1100. Do not know the Finnish Army designation for this. Might as well be that no such exist because only one was bought for trials (http://www.jaegerplatoon.net/AT_RIFLES2.htm).

Re: The official AHF Winter & Continuation War quiz thread
No, it cannot be Solothurn because there's no hydraulics (?) under the barrel.
Could it be 20 ItK/30 BSW/Gustloff taken off from its cradle and aiming system simplified or temporarily removed?

Yep, it seems to have three different sights, iron, telescopic and reflector.John Hilly wrote:Look at that point-blank sight. Great!
AFAIK the "hydraulics" at the photo are part of the cradle recoil buffer system.John Hilly wrote:No, it cannot be Solothurn because there's no hydraulics (?) under the barrel.
Here some photos of three S 18 variants:
