Thank you, Dylan. By accident I learned that the men in question was not extradited to Czechoslovakia after all, though that was the intention. Czech authorities simply lost interest in the case. Eventually all 14 of them were tried in Hamburg in 1950, and they all got off the hook. Unbelievable! We are actually talking about some of the worst war crimes ever committed in Norway. I found the documents in the state archive in Hamburg some time ago.

Do you have the trial details?
I'm currently looking into the Spruchkammer trials in the former British Zone and have not come across these chaps, although Matthiesen was under investigation in 1964 for the shooting of a prisoner in Karasjok (Norway) during 1943.

His parents were Czechs and his last name "Kříž = Cross", AFAIK.
