Anna Kopka. Born 1916 in Thuringia. Conscripted in 1943. Initially she was a guard at Ravensbruck overseeing outside work detail and later worked in the "dressing room". Fled the camp in 1945 to her mothers house in Rostok. Arrested a few months later and stood trial in 1948 and sentenced to life imprisonment by a Soviet military court. Released in 1956 she returned to Rostock but shortly afterwards moved to the West. No further details available.

Re: Ravensbruck Aufseherin
Thanks for the input guys,
I don't know the dates of birth but the names I gave are one or the other for sure ie Kopla or Kopka
I was tempted to follow up on Anna Kopp "Kopka" [* 24.05.1904] /KL Stutthof/ but am sure "stevewebster" has the correct info as it ties in with the 1948 Berlin trial I have been researching.
The other 2 women were in the same trial, Ries receiving a Life sentence and Lübes or Lüpes 25 years imprisonment.
The excellent website http://ss-aufseherin.blog.pl/ which has hundreds of names, does not have so many of those sentenced in post war Soviet or DDR trials.

Hi, Researcher!
The trial ended 21.06.1948.
Erna Kube was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
Concerning Buch was sentenced to death on 03.10.1947. Are you sure she was hanged?
Concenring the SMAD trial could you tell me why you are interested in this trial in particular?

Re: Ravensbruck Aufseherin
Hi Igor,
I was confused by a newspaper report of the trial by Soviet Garrison in Berlin (ending 21.06.1948) because I have a newspaper clipping from the TÄGLICHE RUNDSCHAU which is dated 15 Juli 1948.
My general interest is post war trials but I have visited Ravensbrück twice and was surprised at how little information is known/available of the fates of the women "guards". The trials by British and Polish authorities are well known but the only other 'meaningful' punishment of Aufseherinnen was by the Soviets in the above trial.
BTW Do you have the birth dates of Erna Kube, Maria Marwede and Ursula Peter?
Concerning Buch (sentenced to death on 03.10.1947) I am not 100% sure she was executed. The date information is taken from this forum as posted by ansata1976 and dylan

Hi, Researcher!!!

Concerning you question:
Erna Kube was born on 18.03.1920 in Schmakendorf
Maria Marwede 16.03.1922
Peter, Ursula 24.04.1912
