Alleged torture of Kaltenbrunner

#1

An anonymous text published by the CIA reads:
In July Kaltenbrunner was sent to British Interrogation Center 020 outside of London. Here, at a time when the horrors of the concentration camps were being brought to light, he was seized on as the first prisoner that had played a significant and responsible part in the extermination program. He was given third-degree treatment, I learned later from an American intelligence officer working on the case. (...)

This statement has a element of hearsay to it. Is there other confirmations that Kaltenbrunner was tortured?

I forget the exact medical details of his illness at Nuremberg but IIRC they were consistent with being whacked on the head.

This interrogation at Nuremberg eludes to mistreatment
A. That is completely wrong. I know such a thing will make
no difference to me because in any case, you will sentence
me. May I put an addition to this? The colonel in charge of
the London Prison that I was in has told me that I would be
hanged in any case, no matter what the outcome would be.
Since I am fully aware of that, all I want to do is to clear
up on the fundamental things that are wrong here.

Q. Have you been subject to any treatment that you consider
to be intimidation, coercion, or undue influence since you
have been brought to Nurnberg?

A. I have not suffered from wrong treatment.

Q. Have you suffered any threats or any preconceived
statements that you are guilty of any crime?

A. Not directly, but I am treated as a man that is already
in a criminal prison.

Q. You have been examined at great length because of the
multitude of evidence and witnesses that have been presented
in the field where you are active.

A. I have not complained about any treatment and I am not
complaining now. The difference between the treatment here
and in London is like day and night.
Although perhaps he might have received more mistreatment during the trial just prior to his medical issues if it looked like he was going to stray too far off the reservation a la Ley.

On the opening day of the trial, to everyone's great disappointment, Kaltenbrunner was not in the prisoners' dock; he had been stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage the night before.
from the CIA link.

A brain hemorrhage has many possible causes.
Head trauma. Injury is the most common cause of bleeding in the brain for those younger than age 50.

High blood pressure. This chronic condition can, over a long period of time, weaken blood vessel walls. Untreated high blood pressure is a major preventable cause of brain hemorrhages.

Aneurysm. This is a weakening in a blood vessel wall that swells. It can burst and bleed into the brain, leading to a stroke.

Blood vessel abnormalities. (Arteriovenous malformations) Weaknesses in the blood vessels in and around the brain may be present at birth and diagnosed only if symptoms develop.

Amyloid angiopathy. This is an abnormality of the blood vessel walls that sometimes occurs with aging and high blood pressure. It may cause many small, unnoticed bleeds before causing a large one.

Blood or bleeding disorders. Hemophilia and sickle cell anemia can both contribute to decreased levels of blood platelets.

Liver disease. This condition is associated with increased bleeding in general.
Brain tumors.
