"Top German court rejects suit on Eichmann files
Germany's highest court has rejected a newspaper's suit against a ruling that the country's foreign intelligence service can keep parts of its files on Adolf Eichmann, known as the architect of the Holocaust, secret.
The Federal Constitutional Court said Friday the complaint was dismissed last month. No reasons were given."

Not all the files are necessarily that old, as these are BND files and could be from 1960's (or even later). Reasons for keeping some relatively old intelligence files secret or only restrictedly available are usually based on states security interests or privacy laws.

Re: Top German court rejects suit on Eichmann files
Could the Germans be under pressure from the Israelis not to release the files?
"When captured Eichmann recited the Shema Yisrael in Hebrew and his Israeli guards were surprised how he recited blessings in Hebrew while in prison. In fact Eichmann had made a detailed study of Judaism in his research of the Judenfrage, visiting Palestine in 1937 and having talks with the leaders of the Jewish Agency.
In 1952 Rudolph Kastner, a high-ranking Israeli Labour Party official, was accused by journalist Malchiel Greenwald of having worked hand in hand with Eichmann to murder 800,000 Hungarian Jews, while saving his own family, several hundred associates and the Budapest Jewish Council.
Eichmann even had dressed Kastner in an SS uniform and took him to Belsen to rescue his friends. When Yoel Brand informed Israel's future prime minister, Moshe Sharett, that Eichmann was offering to release all of Hungary's Jews in exchange for 700 trucks, Sharett immediately had him arrested by the British in Aleppo, and nothing came of a glorious rescue opportunity.
The sordid details implicating Chaim Weizman, David Ben Gurion, Golda Meir and others came out in the 1955 Kastner Trial. Kastner's assassination in 1957 was very suspicious, as was the disappearance of the man who
did more than anyone to try to save Hungarian Jewry, the Swede Raoul Wallenberg, and the death by 'car accident' of American playwright and Holocaust exposer Ben Hecht in 1964.
In 69 years, despite hundreds of Nazi murderers to choose from, only one was ever hunted down by Israel: Adolph Eichmann - because he knew too much about the Jewish Labour Establishment's part in the murder of Hungary's 800,000 Jews, and he had to be silenced. "One cow in Palestine is worth more than all the Jews in Europe" (Yitzhak Greenbaum, chairman Jewish Agency), "Palestine cannot be allowed to be overrun by undesirables" (Henry Mentor,President UJA) "

Futile speculation as nothing in statements given by BND or any other participant in this case indicates such thing.Von Schadewald wrote:Could the Germans be under pressure from the Israelis not to release the files?
