Vehicles in concentration camps ?

#1

Post by vinc62 » 18 Aug 2016, 10:31

Hello everyone,

Does anybody know what type of vehicles the staff and SS garrison used in a KL ?
I've been in ex KL Natzweiler 3 weeks ago and it is said there was a garage for vehicles. One of these vehicles was stolen by prisoners who escaped from the camp in 1942.

Thank you for your replies.

Vincent.

I believe a Steyr 220 was used in an escape from Auschwitz 1.

I don't think they used anything special, my guide to Axis vehicles doesn't state anything special, but you are referring to vehicles used exclusively for the guards and staff? because that is a different kind of unit in general than the SS, at least what the SS is normally thought of. Just making sure of the question :P :P :P :P :P

Yes, my question deals with the vehicles used by the Totenkopf-Wachsturmbann in duty in a KL.

Registers of the KL didn't give this info ?
