Jews returning to Germany from Post WW2 exile - numbers?

Hi. A first post. I hope this might just about slip under the radar of Holocaust related threads, but does anyone have any information or can otherwise estimate as to how many Jews that were forced to leave Germany for safer destinations during the Nazi era, then voluntarily returned to Germany to rebuild their lives in the immediate post war years?

My grandparents and their son who left England for Germany in 1950 were among that number, but I've never seem any figures or estimate as to how many (few) others did the same.

I'm not talking here primarily about Jews who were sheltered by sympathetic Germans or otherwise remained in Germany for the duration of the war, including those in the concentration camp system, but rather those who voluntarily returned from safe exile to attempt to rebuild their former lives in the immediate post-war period.

Thanks.
