Former Col. Joseph Munck was sentenced to death 1949 by a French military court on charges of wartime treason.
A letter written by the defendant which was read during the trial said in it: "I disapprove of the Judeo-Masonic principle. I am National Socialist. I think France is betraying the interests of the white race for the sake of Jewish interests." Pinkus Chmielnicki, a Jew, was sentenced to death 1950 on charges of torturing prisoners in his charge in the Birkenau concentration camp. Several witnesses who testified at the trial before a military tribunal here said that the defendant had killed a number of Jews.
