Re: French War Crimes Proceedings
In Rastatt, in the French zone, 34-year-old August Brucker was sentenced to death 1950 by a French tribunal for murdering and mistreating Jewish and Polish prisoners in the Ascherleben concentration camp.
Was the sentence carried out?

Re: French War Crimes Proceedings
Hello,
According to both books Arndt is a Generalmajor Hubert Arndt but no such general existed. They must refer to Generalmajor Edgar Arndt, commander of 708. Infanterie-Division.
von Renteln is Oberstleutnant Ewert von Renteln, commander of Kosaken-Festungs-Grenadier-Regiment 360. He also led the inquiry against the detained.
Additionally Le Bail mentions a Captain Lainer though I haven't understood his role.
Le Bail (2003, pp.99):
Le Bail, Sylvain
Le G.M.R. du Périgord.
Editions Le Chêne vert; Bergerac; 2003
Penaud, Guy
Histoire de la Résistance en Périgord.

Best regards
Torsten
some information on this men is in Penaud (1985, pp.410) and Le Bail (2003, pp.99, pp.109). Though I could read only snippets of the works via GoogleBooks and my French is far from perfect it seems the trial had to do with executions by Landesschützenbataillon 690 of suspects detained in the barracks of French 35th Artillery Regiment in Périgueux.danyb wrote: i have only their names:
