So it seems the Allies didn't bomb Auschwitz because of the greedy Jews.

You seem unaware the gas chambers were outside the camp, and its all about bombing the gas chambers and not the camp itself.

And that war damages/civilian deaths are not subjected to compensation as long as the laws of war are respected.

And that the American/British bombings were killing the innocents: Jews, concentration camp prisoners, prisoners of war, but especially the slave workers by thousands every month anyway.

I have no idea where you are going, wm.

Many years ago this topic was interesting. There are myriad bits and names and sources scattered through this topic that tell the story. Nothing straightforward was stated because of the real possibility of lawsuits. Or at least that is how I looked at it, when backtracking sources, names in sources, and finding where this question "Why didn't the allies bomb Auschwitz ?" originally came from. Then the massive fraud of Claims Conference funds was discovered, and this topic and sources mentioned here, intersected with it, plus the infamous "Hungarian Money Train" case and settlement. I stopped there. I am no professional researcher or historian writing a book, or risking a libel lawsuit.

For anyone reading about Auschwitz it's an obvious question, no need to drag in Claims Conference.

There were people saying Claims Conference was a clique of embezzlers and nothing have happened to them, it seems.

If it's so bad there, with all that vexatious litigation maybe you should relocate to Europe :) . Prague, Bratislava, Budapest - beautiful old cities, WW2 history everywhere, good food, easy sex, gun rights respected (Prague), lots of American and British refuseniks already there.

Reference: Dr. Alfred Schickel, “Auschwitz und die Allierten,” Mensch und Maß, 35(17) (1995), pp. 769-784

"By November 1944 Jewish and Polish sources in London were pushing to have the Allied air forces bomb Auschwitz.

On November 18, 1944 Assistant Secretary of War John J. McCloy wrote to John K. Pehle of the War Refugee Board explaining that the U.S. government had decided not to bomb the camps because the bombing would require precision bombing and the aircraft needed for such bombing did not have the range capacity. The use of heavy bombers would endanger the prisoners unnecessarily.

In December 1944 the American Embassy in Bern (Switzerland) brought forward two “intelligent Jewish women” (US description) who had escaped one evacuation transport from Auschwitz and made it through to Switzerland. These women had willingly testified to the Americans that the Germans were not murdering prisoners in Auschwitz, there were no indiscriminate shootings and most of the deaths in the camps were caused by malnutrition, disease and illness.

On January 22, 1945, German authorities reported to the Irish Department of External Affairs that all rumors of “mass exterminations” or murders were devoid of all foundation and that they were actually trying to keep the prisoners alive.

The U.S. State Department then contacted the German authorities through its consulates in Ireland and Switzerland and informed them that America had taken notice of this assurance, and expected that all inmates of all concentration and work camps would be kept alive by the German authorities."

Does anybody know the names of the two Jewish women who escaped from the evacuation transport and made it to Switzerland?

Polish Leaders Urge Retaliation for Nazi Annihilation of Jews in Poland
November 30, 1942
The Polish National Council which last Friday adopted a resolution protesting against the Nazi mass-slaughter of Jews in Poland, will consider practical proposals aimed at checking the Nazi outrages at a forthcoming session. The proposals include.
1. Taking steps, together with other members of the United Nations, for reprisals against Germans who are at present in the hands of the Allies.
2. Dropping printed accounts of the Nazi atrocities against the Jews in the occupied territories over Germany, “so that the German people in the future will not be able to pretend that they were unaware of these atrocities.”
3. Calling an Allied conference for the purpose of reviewing the situation and of planning effective measures which would force the Nazis to discontinue their cold-blooded annihilation of Jews.
An appeal to the civilized world, emphasizing that history has never recorded such mass-crimes as the present Nazi extermination of Jews in Poland, was adopted unanimously by the Polish National Council. It read. “The Polish National Council solemnly appeals to all Allied nations to take immediately all possible steps against the violation of human rights and dignity and against the extermination of the population of Poland, especially the mass-murder of Jews there. In the work of Jewish mass-annihilation, the Nazi bestiality has touched the lowest recorded depths. The Council calls upon the population of Poland- Poles, Jews and other victims-to hold out and continue their struggle, and fight as the Poles and the Jews did hitherto, with faith that victory is near and that just retribution will be taken.”
Dr. Ignacy Schwarzbart, Jewish member of the Polish National Council who introduced the appeal, declared at the session that he has nothing to add to it “as words cannot describe the terrible occurrences.” Samuel Zygelboim, the other Jewish member of the Council, declared in a broken voice. “There is nothing I can say except to hope that the Germans will be defeated before they kill all my people.” The Council stood in silence while the motion to adopt the appeal was passed.
Vice-Premier Stanislaw Mikolajczyk read to the Council an appeal published in the underground press in Poland confirming the Nazi mass-killing of Jews. “The recent victories of the Allies,” the appeal said, “have let loose a new wave of Nazi cruelties hitherto unknown in the history of mankind. Today it is the Jews that are being massacred. When the Nazis finish with the Jews they will turn on the Poles. Six million innocent Jewish victims face extermination. We cannot remain silent. We cannot help them at present, but our protest must be heard emphatically throughout the entire world.”
Russia Submits New Proposals to Allied Nations on Retaliation for Nazi Massacres
December 16, 1942
New and stronger proposals for halting the Nazi massacre of Jews in occupied countries have been submitted by the Soviet Government to the Allied Nations, it was reported here today. These new proposals are the cause for the delay in the issuance of a joint Anglo-American-Russian statement on the Nazi atrocities against the Jews and on the measures which will be taken to check these atrocities.
A direct appeal from the Jewish underground movement in Poland was transmitted from here today by cable to President Roosevelt. The appeal which asks for action to save the surviving Jews in Poland from extermination was received by Samuel Zygelboim, Jewish member of the Polish National Council, for transmission to President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
In the House of Commons today Sir James Grigg, Minister of War, was asked whether the British Government would consult American military authorities in Europe on the question of the establishment of a Jewish Army now that the Nazis are exterminating the Jews in Europe It was pointed out by several members of Parliament that the Nazis massacres entitle the Jews to form an army of their own to avenge their murdered brethren.
Sir James replied that the question of the formation of a specifically Jewish Army has been carefully examined by the government on various occasions in the light of all relevant factors and that a departure from the present policy on this subject is not considered justified.
The Manchester Guardian, one of England's leading newspapers, in commenting today on the suggestion by British Laborites that the Allied Nations should enable Jews from Nazi-held countries to proceed to Sweden by promising the Swedish Government that they will not become a burden upon local institutions, declares that this suggestion would no doubt be welcomed by the Swedish people providing that the U.S. Government undertakes to supply food for the refugees during their stay in Sweden. The paper believes that the Swedish authorities could be persuaded to at least admit a substantial number of Jewish children. It adds that Turkey is prepared to allow Jewish children to pass through en route to Palestine and that Kenya is prepared to accept Jewish refugee children.
The Yiddish theaters in London today announced that they will remain closed all week, observing the week of mourning for the Jews of Europe proclaimed by the Rabbinate and the Board of Deputies of British Jews.
The Trades Advisory Council at a protest meeting today adopted a resolution expressing grief and indignation at the Nazi annihilation of Jews and appealed to the United Nations for retribution. Neutral countries are urged in the resolution to open their borders to Jews escaping from Nazi terror. Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and Lord Melchett were among the principal speakers at the meeting.
