Hello together!

Unfortunately, the information of Takao and navweaps isn’t correct. The mine at the photo shows a French HS4AR. (Look at this!)

Hello abigbagofpoo!

I am sure that it is a German SMA. The German EMF-mine looks although similar, but has no second weld in the area of the upper lid. In addition a second opening would have to be to find at the bottom half of the mine.

A further characteristic trait is the diameter of body of the mine: EMF with 1120 mm, SMA with 1170 mm.

With kind regards

Hello all!

Somebody knows, what designate the letters VH in the name of the German mine of LMB III VH?

Thanks!

I have no idea about "VH", but if it happens to be a misread of "VK" it means verzögerungskontakt.

Yes, that's a "H" no doubt :-)

Can't help, and there's not much info on Luftminen in the Kriegsmarine documents I have.

Hello Sturm78,

it's a Bulgarian Б-38 resp. "България–38" (B-38 resp. "Bulgaria-38" in roman letters). Unfortunately I can't find tactical data except the name of this naval mine.

Greetings,
Schorschl
