...al back in relation of u-Boot crew, should be a crew from a R- boat, because I identified on the reverse a single name ; it must be : Schober .
So one of tese guys should be Mr. Schober ( later Obersteuermann on a R-boat )

So this pic belongs to my grouping : Minensucher- Sperrflottille

Sorry , I owned all these things since over 20 years now and I found the pic between the pages inside of a large book, probably in former years I had to put into there , to bring it into form again , because it was a little " round" .

But if anyone knows some of the shown people, please nevertheless feel free to write it down here.

Thanks

Tom32

Thanks Dieter Z. for the info

.. now " we " have 2 ( different ) Mr. W. Schober on one pic :o

On the left, the second one in the first row = Mr. Waldemar Schober / Obersteuermann
On he right side = Mr. Willi Schober / Korv.- Kpt.

It's also not so common :)

The shoulder clasps on this b & w photto could be a for an Korv.- Kpt. or an Konteradmiral.
If you have a look to the visor cap , it's also a little difficult to say , if it's a big single cord ( Korv.- Kpt.) or a big double cord ( Konteradmiral)

I want to call your attention to the coat collar for admirals, see for example Dönitz in my pic!

Okay, this is in color, but in b & w photo you didn't see the difference if it's only silver/ Korv.- Kpt. or silver with gold / Kontteradmiral ,
take a look here to the first and the second one / both ... the Admiral is different, with his extra 2 "stars" on it - should be also to be seen in b & w photos : but if I count the slings from the coat collar : these are 4 , so now we know its an Konteradmiral because a Korv.-Kpt. has 5 slings ( see pics below ) .

The photo must have been made after 17. May 1944 , because on this date he got his Obersteuermannszeugnis, so we'll see who was the Konteradmiral at this time in this area.

Thanks a lot for your info, I've sent you a PN
The face is the same - right, so the pic has been taken at the capitulation day or a little after
At that time, so it must be Winther in function of Inspector of Training-Affairs of the Navy.

So you are sure the photo was taken on 8 or 9 May 1945?
