Hi, I would suggest posting your query on this German forum :

http://www.forum-marinearchiv.de/smf/in ... ,25.0.html

F 494 :

http://www.historisches-marinearchiv.de ... _value=700

F495 :

http://www.historisches-marinearchiv.de ... value=1053

I'm willing to translate the document for you if there are no other volunteers.

edit: I've just noticed that you already posted on the German board in the past :

http://www.forum-marinearchiv.de/smf/in ... l#msg68994

You probably know that there is some further info on F 494 and F 495 in Peter Schenk's book "Kampf um die Ägäis". Apparently the MFP's were bringing parts for the coastal artillery on Kefallonia when they came under fire from Italian guns/light weapons.

Regards,

Arjan

Hi Steve,

The abbreviation M.G. stands for Maschinengewehr (machine gun). I'm not sure about E.S. perhaps the abbreviation of eigenes Schiff to indicate that they were firing on one of their own ships. I assume that there was a standard light signal to stop friendly fire.
