hi,

German Torpedo boat "Raubtier"-class, possibly acting as "honor escorts" for the KdF ships "Robert Ley" and "Wilhelm Gustloff" (in the background) carrying the German soldiers of "Legion Condor" back to Germany in May, 1939.

Hello,
According to Polar bear information, (possible place and date in which is involved the ship) is more easy now
to move closelly to the real name of the ship.
Suppose the year 1939, the ship is possible to be WOLF.

hi,

taking into account the number of officers on the starboard wing of the torpedo boat´s bridge and the superior position of the photographer, my (wild) guess is that this is the boat of the flottilla´s Senior Officer (Flo-Chef) closing a larger ship (cruiser ?) for, e.g., mail bag transfer.

... and now my opinion :

The two pictures is only one, the same ship, a caption made in one time, day, month, year.
From this point of view if Polar bear information is OK, that means year 1939.
If Polar bear information is wrong, that means that the photo was shot at a naval parade, or at one special
ocasion ??? , but no in 1939 .
One object is clear in the photo : the gun. The gun from this picture is 10,5cm SKC/28 in 10,5cm MPLC/28.
If the ship is ILTIS, the old 10,5cm SKC/28 in 10,5cm MPLC/28 guns was removed in 1934, and replaced with the new 12,7cm SKC/34 in 12,7cm MPLC/34.
That is the reason, because I propose to you, all ... WOLF.
Regards,
VladAlex.

First photo has a number - this is S.5!
Second photo is some boat from S.14-17 range (Entwurf Lurssen 1934/35)

For the second photo, I would say S7-S13. The portholes look different on the S14-17.
S7 portholes went 1-2-1-2(the photos I have seen of S10 match the photo in question)
S14 portholes went 1-2-1-1-1

Perhaps you right. I've never see such boot from port, from starboard they quite same for me. I look to mast, S.7-13 has cross-mast. But they may be change them for one we see on photo during the war.
