Is there any book that gives information on various Schnellboot Commanders? There are plenty of books on U Boat Commanders but I can't find any good book that discusses successful Schnellboot captains. Thanks.

V. Kühn: Schnellboote im Einsatz 1939 - 1945) - not bad

probably the best book.

there is a book by F. Kurowski about Knights Cross recipient Werner Töniges (Motorbuch-Verlag)

personal opinion with respect to "good": NOT rpt NOT recommended

the book shows Töniges` reports as truth, arriving at 20+ ships sunk with 80,000 tons
the verified data, AFAIK, are 7 (mostly small) ships with a total of 9,600 tons

hi, Felix,

the only one I know of is : Kemnade, Friedrich, Die 3. Schnellbootflottille ... less memoirs, but war diary style.

My father was a S-Boat Commander Ulrich Kolbe, S-85. We are looking for members of his crew. and have lots of memoirs and pictures.
