A further media update:
Re: Nazi gold train 'found in Poland'
It's true as far as German state and private property is considered. That rule doesn't apply to items stolen by Nazis. But how can you identify owners of coins, jewellery, golden bars and so on? It's virtually impossible. But as i said.. I think no gold is there. The international law says it's Polish property, so called abandon former German property.

Saw this on twitter today : "This train could have been chartered by H.Kammler in May,1945 and contain extremely precious archives bounded to "Projekt Glocke", "Projekt Hnb, "Projekt Hvdrng".
Re: Nazi gold train 'found in Poland'
It's the duty of those owners or their heirs to submit a proper claim, and then the item will be returned to the rightful owner. Of course the finders will get their ten per cent. By default the state is the heir.
But it is still to early to file a claim. All that hype is based on a few confusing radargrams like this, nothing more:
It's not the first time, earlier this year a radargrams based discovery of that train was announced by some people and nothing came out of it.

If they haven't opened the tunnel how do they know it's intact?

The place, by analyzing the scarce information available and eliminating locations unsuitable for building tunnels, reportedly is guarded by the police now:

'Golden package tours' have been launched for English-speaking tourists in the wake of the media hubbub over a supposedly treasure-laden Nazi train that may have been located in Wałbrzych, south west Poland. - http://www.thenews.pl/1/9/Artykul/21905 ... tery#.dpuf

I hope the poles open a museum with the train 'in site" after they remove the loot, whatever it is...

Doesn't the train and its contents belong to the DRB or its successor?

Reason: Surely you mean "Bernsteinzimmer" - and not "berneinstein-zimmer" - isn't it so?

Wasn't there not a detailed notice about this train in the famous "Hitler-diaries" found by the "Stern"-Magazin - and written by Konrad Kujau ??
A likely story to read tea leaves and for dowsers, now and ever and unto ages and ages.
