Military uniform during Russo-japanese war

#1

Post by Roman1981 » 08 Feb 2015, 21:12

Hello!

I would like to show some photos relating to the period of Russo-Japanese war time, but i am not fully sure about it. The only thing i found that this kind of uniform was formally established in 1886.

1. Soldiers in white summer uniform

2. portrait of the soldier. This kind of peaked cap relates to 1886 model

3. an officer and his family.

4. A woman with red cross medal (donation)

the back of the photo, maybe the writings could tell the exact date when this photo was taken?

Any commentaries are welcome.

Thank you for your attention.

Roman.

From 1886 to 1905 army cadet school had white summer cotton uniform. Perhaps they were cadets those days.

I am not sure, but Russian soldiers keep their coats in this way.

Thank you Hisashi for your kind help! Yes, i also recognize the russian way of packaging :)

I attach this interesting photo of Boxer rebellion in 1900, which also illustrates this way of packaging:

There is an Osprey book on the R-J war that has information on the uniforms used by both sides.
