Just guessing - to me it looks like a 20mm gun? The only one of those that I can think of which uses the type of magazine depicted would be the Japanese Type 98. I am not, however, well-versed in AA guns. See http://www.lonesentry.com/articles/jp_type98/index.html for an image....

Hi.

Thats not a type 98 aa-gun.

I think it´s an early Oerlikon 20 mm a-gun. This unique ammunition box with the grip was used with this guns.

What has been sugested on another form is that it is:

German 2CM Becker AA gun from WWI, or a very early SEMAG/Oerlikon variant of the M/23,

Checking reveals that it is likely the later.

The Becker in German service WW1:

Most likely old stock was passed onto the Chinese.

"Nichi Nichi" will be Tokyo Nichinichi. Tokyo Nichinichi is now Mainichi. Their archives can be accessed only in Japanese.
