Japanese military marches ?
Re: Japanese military marches ?
I have no idea how foreign residents purchase Japanese items.
http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_sb_nos ... D%E6%AD%8C
is a search results of 'Gunka(軍歌)' at Amazon.co.jp
In general some of Gunka sound fanatic even for modern Japanese. And our youngsters, even those who love combat music, do not understand local battlefield. So I cannot find any release of this song.
The lylic writer Ozaki Kihachi lived long to 1974 so copyright has not yet been expired.

Re: Japanese military marches ?
Very keen to see the anglicised lyrics to the tune 'シンガポール陥落の歌'(Singapole kanraku no uta) - song for the fall of Singapore.
I wouldn't mind the Japanese lyrics with the anglicised lyrics underneath them which shows how to pronounce the lyrics.
I see there are some other old newsreel videos on YouTube which have the Japanese lyrics. I could email the link.
Your help would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Markus

Re: Japanese military marches ?
Actually it's not a march but still a nice song connected to Imperial Japanese Navy, directly from Ketsudan (決断アニメタリ)

This is an opening theme of an animation series in 1971. Though 25 of 26 episodes were from decisions by army/navy commanders in the Pacific War, this song was an anime song.Piegziu wrote:Actually it's not a march but still a nice song connected to Imperial Japanese Navy, directly from Ketsudan (決断アニメタリ)

This song, as I can remember, became the hit in threads conneted with IJN. Some people call it unofficial anthem of IJN in mass media.

Would like the complete words to the song, if you could help. The anglicised Japanese words so an English speaker could sing the song for the fall of Singapore.

Okay, I'll give it a try. Here it is in romaji but no guarantees. My hearing is not the greatest (too many diesel engines and too much rock and roll).
シンガポる 陥落 の 歌
Shingaporu Kanraku no Uta
Song of the Fall of Singapore
歓べ一億今日この日
Yorakonbe ichi oku kyoo kono hi
シンガポるは逐に陥つ
Shingaporu wa sui ni otsu
あああ 満々の海越へて
Aaa manman no umi koete
我等が父は同胞は
Warera ga chichi wa karakara wa
今ぞ陥セりこの城を
Imazo otoseri kono shiro o
不落をいい如何に誇るとも
Uraku o ii kagi ni hokoru tomo
百練のは業此処に在り
Naze no wa hoku ni hari
電撃一閃轟けば
Dengeki ii seru todorokeba
敵は慄き山揺らぎ
Genkiwa wa tono ki yama yuragi
牙城忽ち幕を閉づ

Dear Wellgunde
I think you have done an exceptional job despite industrial deafness and rock and roll.
Thanks sincerely for your help. My hearing seems to match the romaji words you have written so I really appreciate your help.
Kind regards
