Lines on his sleeve hard to see but perhaps he was a Sub Lt. A line officer was usually offered a marrige at 1st/Sub Lt. or army Capt./navy Lt. He looks young and Hatsuko's eye and bree resemble those of Kesayoshi, so the others might be his younger brothers/sisters.

The collar tabs show him to be a LTJG. The flower emblems below his sleeve stripes were used to show officers commissioned from the enlisted ranks, as seen here:



Usually these personnel never rose higher than a full LT.

This is an officer from Eta Jima's 67th Class. The last name reads as "KOSHIYAMA", possibly? He was KIA as Navigator of submarine RO-33 in August 1942. TIA for any help!

The family name is Koshiyama. The given name is unusual. One possible reading is Suminori. No guarantees though. Some Japanese sources list his date of death as September 1, 1942. He was from a well known Satsuma samurai family. His grandfather, Beppu Shinsuke (?)(a formr IJA officer), was killed fighting with Saigo Takamori in the Seinan War.

No clue on this one, except for the fact he was a Naval Officer and that he commanded minesweeper W-4 from 5 October 1940 - 1 November 1941. TIA for any help!

The family name could be Taue, Tanoue, or Tagami. All three readings are common and equally correct. The given name is a tough one. Do you have a source or any clues?
