Re: Type 95 Truck and Other Odd Vehicles
That is a nice photo.
I found one of a Isuzu TX40. The dual wheels on the rear axle identify it. Photo taken in Hansa Bay, New Guinea 1944-09-06.

Re: Type 95 Truck and Other Odd Vehicles
It is not Sumida M.2593. It is the armored railroad car before Type 91 Armored Railroad Car, which is wrongly known as Sumida M.2593 in the west.
In some books, it is said as Type 90. But, I think that it is also wrong. On a vintage album, it is stated as Keibensha (narrow-gauge car). But, I don't know if it is correct.

高木氏の鉄道連隊 meaning 'Takagi's railway regiment'? Can you explain further?Akira Takizawa wrote: http://mixi.at/aeIldet

It looks similar to the attached photos of an armored rail-car. There is probably no relationship.Akira Takizawa wrote: http://mixi.at/aeIkPWS

No, it means "Takagi's book on railway regiment". Mr. Takagi is a writer on the railway. He supposed that that car was made in Russia in his book.

Re: Type 95 Truck and Other Odd Vehicles
I am using google translate, so the words are usually jumbled up.
The Fengtian and Kuomintang armies had trains built under Russian supervision. Maybe this is one of them?

Re: Type 95 Truck and Other Odd Vehicles
Takagi's presumption is not so. That car was built in Russia and used at Chinese Eastern Railway owned by Russia in Manchuria. When the Soviet Union sold Chinese Eastern Railway to Manchukuo in 1935, that car would be transferred to South Manchuria Railway Company.Luftflotte2 wrote:The Fengtian and Kuomintang armies had trains built under Russian supervision. Re: Type 95 Truck and Other Odd Vehicles
From the same seller as the previous photo.
It is not So-Da, but Type 100 Observation Vehicle "Te-Re". This photo was taken at 3rd Tank Division in China after the war ended. See the following page in my blog.

Type 93 150mm Searchlight Vehicle
It is not mere truck, but repair vehicle or workshop vehicle.

Re: Type 95 Truck and Other Odd Vehicles
Te-Re is different from So-Da in some points. Te-Re has a stay for setting a rang finder at the front panel. And it has a reel of telephone cable on the back door. See below photo.
Taki
Also note that the back door of Te-Re is single door, while that of So-Da is double door.

It is the cylinder for signal lamp. It is the same thing existing on the roof of the Chi-Ha turret.Luftflotte2 wrote:What is this cylinder in the middle?
