Hello fontessa:

Nekka Maru was sunk on 23 November 1943 while in southbound Convoy HI-23. One account says that there were 985 passengers and 410 military personnel on board.

Another source lists passengers as:

Sasebo 1st Special Naval Landing Force, 232 men
Iwakuni Naval Air Force, 150 men
985 other passengers

That was a lot of people. Do your sources mention the units that were aboard Nekka Maru?

Good evening fontessa:

Thanks for this detailed list. It is a good example of routine personnel movements, necessary but not very exciting.

John
