Chinese attack on aircraft carrier Ryujo

#1

Post by peter2010 » 19 Apr 2014, 14:16

According to Chinese records, three bombers of the Chinese Air Force patrolling the sea area northeast of the Zhoushan islands on November 11, 1937 chanced upon a Japanese aircraft carrier, attacked the ship and scored one hit before returning to base. At least one Chinese source identifies the aircraft carrier as the Ryujo. Has anyone come across a record of this incident in Japanese sources?

Her TROM on combinedfleet.com makes no mention of it; to my knowledge Chinese aircraft didn't attack any Japanese carriers.
