Hello ijnfleetadmiral:

三船伝蔵中佐 Comdr MIFUNE Denzo (JACAR C13072081900)

At Santa Cruz Sea Battle, Chikuma was bombed on October 26, and the XO was killed. She needed the repair for several months. So the XO was vacant in the above-mentioned period. Comdr SHIRAHAMA Masahichi, the next XO, was appointed on February 5.

Awesome...thanks! How do I get to the JACAR files? I'll try and start translating them on my own if possible.

Hello ijnfleetadmiral:

If you want to see the Navy bulletin of 1944, please search at the following JACAR web page by the keywords "海軍辞令公報 (space) 昭和19年".

Crap...can't copy-paste from JACARS. Guess I'm screwed, as that's the only way I have a hope translating anything.
