Here's what I have for the wartime positions...TIA for any help in filling in blanks.

KAGA
??? - 15 December 1938 - ???
LCDR / CDR* MIYANO Tosaburo (52) - ??? - 4 June 1942 (KIA)

SORYU
??? - 16 August 1937 - ???
CDR KANAO Ryoichi (??) - ??? - 4 June 1942

HIRYU
I have no Gunnery Officers for this vessel.

SHOKAKU
I have no Gunnery Officers for this vessel.

ZUIKAKU

According to page 27 of JACAR C13072080600, LCDR MIURA Gishiro was appointed on 1 April 1945.

According to page 20 of JACAR C13072072200, LCDR MAEDA Kanji was appointed on 16 August 1937.

Thanks for this! A couple of clarifications:

You also have him listed as being posted as Navigator in another thread. Another translation of his name is TAHISA Takeo, and I have him listed as Navigator in several other vessels.

CDR MIURA Gishiro was appointed as the navigator officer of AKAGI on 1 April 1941.

According to page 4 of C13072075600, LCDR MAEDA Kanji (EO of Hiryu) was appointed as the gunnery offcer of Hiryu on 1 April 1939.
