Re: General index of legal documents quoted in this forum
Dear Fontessa,
The transition from 17th Army to 8th Area Army + 17th Army + 18th Army is unclear. Do you have the order numbers and the list of units assigned for IGHQ Orders concerning to these units in late 1942?
Thanks a lot

Re: General index of legal documents quoted in this forum
Hello Joan,
At first:
(1) 51st Division was subordinated to 17th Army by Dairikumei No. 714 dated 16 November 1942.
Then:
(2) The division was transferred to 18th Army by Dairikumei No. 729 dated 23 December 1942.

I have rechecked.fontessa wrote:It my fault. The 51st Division was in the OOB of the 18th Army.Joan Pinyol wrote: 51st Division (according with extinct Lt. Amuro page) was assigned to 18th Army on 16 Nov 1942. In your list appears under 17th Army.

According to page 43 of JACAR C14060908400, Dairikumei No. 714 ordered the OOBs of 8th Area Army, 17th Army and 18th Army. I have already post the OOB of 17th Army. Unfortunately I don't have the OOBs of 8th Area Army and 18th Army now.Joan Pinyol wrote: The transition from 17th Army to 8th Area Army + 17th Army + 18th Army is unclear. Wow, Joan and fontessa, this is a wonderful thread! Thank you so much for your efforts.
Two questions.
I've found Army Order 362, for the China Expeditionary Army, activated September 12, 1939, operational from October 1, 1939.
Is this correct, if so when is the order dated?
If not what would the correct information be?
Order No. 82, August 31, 1937, 'North China Area Army OOB' on Joan's PDF........
Order No. 82, August 31, 1937, 'Central China Area Army was created November 7, 1937 from the Shanghai Expeditionary Army and the 10th Army.'
I'm paraphrasing from either Japanese Monograph 70 or 179 and strongly suspect the monograph in question is in error.
Thank you in advance,

Hello fontessa,
I'm very grateful for the correct issue date on Dairikumei No. 362 and your information on Rinsanmei No. 82 and Rinsanmei No.138. The order of events (and my confusion) is understandable now. Many thanks!
Thank you Joan, that was kind to say.
