Hello,
I have a questions concerning AA and CA defence on Oahu in December 1941.

Here is what I know about American defence structure:
Coastal Artillery Hawaii Command - mjr. gen. Henry T. Burgin.
Hawaiian Separate CA Brigade - concurently mjr. gen. Henry T. Burgin - 15th, 16th CA Regiment
53rd CA Brigade - - 64th, 97th, 98th, 251st CA Regiment.

1st question - who was co 53rd CA Brigade in the time of Pearl Harbor attack?
2nd question - what was the correct name in 1941 - 53rd AAA Brigade or 53rd CA Brigade? I've met both versions in different sources.

Regards,
Marek

The 53rd Coast Artillery Brigade was redesignated the 53rd Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade on December 12, 1943

The correct title is "Hawaiian Coast Artillery Command" rather than "Coastal Artillery Hawaii Command."

Hello,

First, thank You indeed Wellgunde very much for Your correction.
Second, completely by surprise I've found many informations about American Coast Artillery in net in "Coast Artillery Journal" July/August 1941.
If anybody is interested:
It turns out: mjr. gen. Henry T. Burgin was concurrently commanding Hawaiian Coast Artillery Command and 53rd Coast Artillery Brigade. Hawaiian Separate Coast Artillery Brigade was commanded by mjr. gen. Fulton Q. C. Gardner.
By the way, from this Journal You could know everything: names, ranks, places, types of weapons, what, where, how units of coast artillery were training. You don't need intelligence for collecting data. You may buy it for few cents or dollars on press stand. One thing I don't know if this Journal could be bought on press stand or was it colported only inside Coast Artillery Corps.

Regards,
Marek

The Osprey book is mostly focused on descriptions of the weapons and gun emplacements. There is not a whole lot about organization.

The Army Pearl Harbor Board Exhibits may be a place to look for that, or the Green Books.
