Postby Charile Brown on 02 Oct 2002 23:19

Hello,

Could somebody please give me information about what german currency was worth during the war years 39'-45'. I have had a very difficult time trying to find information about its worth compared to say, the U.S. dollar.

What Denominations did they have 5.10.20s??

Thank you....

There are a hundred Pfennigs to a German Mark, and a Reichsmark was worth from 25-50 cents during the war.

The actual value(in terms of prices etc) of 1 RM was about 4.5 DM at the 1995 value(an article published in 1995 by a German magazine said that a RM 100,000 subsidy in 1933 was the equivalent of 450,000 DM)
