Do you mean 12,8 cm Flak 40 or 12,8 cm Flakzwilling 40?After german wartime technical documents -3° is correct.
A different document gives the Z.F.20 E as optical sight for direct fire but I have never seen it on a 12,8 so far.
Here you are. The whole sight socket is market with the red circle, the red dot inside denotes the place where the actual ZF would be mounted. The red line marks the coupling between the sight and the elevation layer's Uebertragungsgeraet 37 receiver (as opposed to the 8,8 cm Flak L/56 and 10,5 cm Flak, there was apparently no separate mechanical indicator of elevation angle for direct fire).Nice info, could you circle the socket for the Z.F.20E on a 12,8 cm Flak 40 pic ?
