Uwe,

It has to be the name of the commanding officer of the battery ("Lüwy" exists as a last name). But I don't know the battery number.

Hello Uwe

In 1941 there were three E-batterie with 24 cm Th.Br. in the west ( H.Gr. D )

E 664 = 2 x 24 cm Th.Br.
E 722 = 2 x 24 cm Th.Br.
E 726 = 2 x 24 cm Th.Br. later incorporated in E 722 with 4 guns

The 2 x 24 Th.Br. from the E 664 were placed in 1943 http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 4&start=15

Back to the question of Uwe , we know there were only 6 x 24 cm Th.Br. guns made ,if we see
the date of 04-06-1941 we can conclude the E 722 (2 x) and E 726 (2 x) are not the candidate's ??

Jos,

Based on Kriegsglierungen des Feldheeres, E.664 had Theodore K.(E) guns, not Theodore Bruno K (E) in 1940, 1941 and 1942. Your document of 04.06.41 shows indeed Th.K(E) for E.664, just like E.674.

E.664 obtained its two Th.Br. K(E) guns in early 1943 and gave its two Th.K(E) guns to E.674 positioned in the same general area in southwestern France. So Battr. Lüwy might have become E.664 only at that time.

Separately, here is the Feldpostnummer of E.726: 11153
(Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) 1. Batterie Artillerie-Regiment 260
(2.1.1940-27.4.1940) gestrichen, wurde Fp.Nr.02 838 B
(1.2.1941-11.7.1941) Batterie Th. Bruno-Kanone (E) 726
(12.7.1941-26.1.1942) gestrichen

(15.7.1942-24.1.1943) 1. Heeres-Küsten-Batterie 402
(1.8.1943-23.3.1944) 8.1.1944 gestrichen
(7.11.1944-Kriegsende) 5.1.1945 Lazarettzug 1132.
