Optic for 90P9 turret

#1

Post by M19 MADMAL » 28 Jun 2015, 23:01

Hi all,

A replica Type 90P9 turret top has been made to go on of the Type 631b at Wn. Millbrook for when the bunker is open 8-)
(The turret was mounted where the Tobruk would have been and was accessed from the entrance defence room. The replica replaces the exposed part cut off for scrap in in the late 1940's.)

Does anybody have a photograph they will share of the type of optic mounted inside the 90P9 turret?

Regards,
Malcolm :milwink:

Should be a Pz.B.W.F. 5a. Bunkersite has photos of Pz.B.W.F. 5 in their optics section.

Hi,

Thank you for your replies

I couldn't work out how this periscope connected to the mounts that survive in Wn. Millbrook's 90P9 as the mount consists of a slide rail :?
But the photos below of the complete 90P9 mounted at Wn. Red Houses showed the missing part that fits onto the rail and inserts into the bottom of the periscope! 8-)

Malcolm :milwink:

Yes that's the mount for the optics. Great turret at Red Houses!

Tony Chalker at Millbrook made this one and yeah; it was modelled on the one found in Guernsey.
