Re: Unknow gun
Hello,
The first gun is not a "16 cm modèle 1893 sur affût à châssis modèle 1893" but a more rare 16 cm modèle 1893-96 on the same "affût à châssis modèle 1893".
This model is more rare during the Great War on ground use, it is used only from the last months of 1917 when the "modèle 1893" guns used since 1914 were no more in stock.
This photograph is taken in Aizy (Aisne), this gun was captured the 27th may 1918 during the german attack on "Chemin des Dames".
Yours sincerely,
Guy François.

Hi Stril,
I think it's Canon de 155 C modèle 1917 Schneider, german codification 15,5 cm sFH 414 (f) or (b) depending on whether the gun was captured in France or Belgium.

Re: Unknow gun
Ok, thanks for the correction.
Bunkerfreaks : I'd bet on a 8,8 cm Flak 36.

EAX, thanks
Do you know what is the purpose of that small "barrel"-isch thing on the left side of the gun?

Re: Unknow gun
It could also be a 8,8 cm Flak 18 with the R.A.9 multi-piece barrel. Without seeing the carriage, I'm not sure if we can differentiate a Flak 18 from the Flak 36 as the barrel does not tell the whole story .Eax-E wrote:Ok, thanks for the correction.
