Re: Unknow gun
I think that this was taken in the west in 1940, and would be a captured British BL 9.2 inch Mk.2 howitzer barrel. The other barrel carriage with the pneumatic tires and disc wheels seen at the beginning of this thread which Jos mentions above may be Belgian.

Re: Unknow gun
It might be one of the old pre-First World War German 28cm Kustenmörser L/12s, there were at least two different versions of this weapon, and if I am not mistaken, there was also a 30.5cm Kustenmörser as well.
Re: Unknow gun
Thank you very much SASH155 and Jos!
I am just wondering what the gun was doing at Juterborg, which as far as I am aware was a proving ground/testing centre.
Some of the information regarding this gun (I followed the link in Jos's post) suggests that the guns were withdrawn from coastal use between 1935 and 1940 to be used in offensive operations. I cannot therefore help thinking that perhaps the gun was at Juterborg for some sort of testing when the guns were in process of being brought into service for the army.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Nezar

Re: Unknow gun
The version which was used as a siege weapon was a different model (an older version??); it did not have the large ring cradle seen on this one and the barrel was mounted on top of the lower carriage. The artillery range I believe was named Jüterbog (no "r").

Re: Unknow gun
Looks very much like the barrel with cradle for the 10,5 cm SKL/45 in MPLC/06

Re: Unknow gun
This looks like it might be a 15cm gun, it seems too large to be a 10.5cm weapon.

Hello
It is an intersting photo with a more intersting photo captions which
reards :
49172 PK - Busch - Press - Hoffmann 265 F.Z.
" ander Eisemerfront gegen die Sovietunion . Schwere Geschütze der Marine -
Artillerie werden ausgeladen " date 16 - 9- 41
So J will go for an 15 cm SKL/40 in 15 cm MPLC/97 in MKB 2 /517 Petsamo - Alt
which where built July - August 1941 .
It is not the 10,5 cm SKL/45 in 10,5 cm MPLC/1906 because the gun has the whole
recoil system under the gun barrel , but this gun a the recoil system at 3 and 9 o'clock
postions .
