i think we can see here a battery of a Heeres-Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilung (147, 148 or 149) at the Black Sea area or at crimea
equippted with s. 10,5 cm K. 335 (h)

Alexander, the numbering system/style matches that seen on these guns used by the Germans. Combine that with the building style in the photo and you have Uwe's guess as to location.

Jos Many thanks, no wonder I did know it! This makes sense, as it is from a KG 40 Luftwaffe Feldwebel. kind regards Mark.

An interesting AT gun with the shield of the 3,7 cm Pak, a muzzle that seems to flare like the one of the Russian 45 mm AT gun and a much longer barrel than the 3,7 cm and 45 mm AT guns. Any idea about the type?

Emmanuel
It is a Russian 45mm M1942 anti-tank gun. Guns length in caliber was increased from L/46 to L/66 over the 1932/37/38 versions.

Hi all,

I think the gun in foreground is a 120mm Schneider-Canet gun but...Any idea about the gun turret in the background ?? :?

Thank you, Rich.

Could the gun on the picture have been used by the Germans? The number written on the lower right corner seems of American origin (the way the "7" and "9" are written) and typical of US Signal Corps. The landscape makes me think of Italy.

Hi Emmanuel
This gun could certainly have been captured and used by the Germans. I agree with you on the landscape resembling Italy.
