looks like 6"/45 Canet, probably Latvian or Estonian.

Hello, even that this a late reply to this supject - maybe still of interest.

Denis is very right, it is a 15,2 mm Canet 45 (152/45 C). Compare the gun carriage with these two picture from 152/45 C used as fortress artillery in a open battery of Salpalinja in Finland.

Also in Finnland this gun was used as railway artillery and then named 152/45 CL Raut. (Rautatiepatteri = Railway battery). Also the cammoflage of the gun in Jos picture is very similare like the one the Finns used for their railway battery. From 1941 to 1944 these batteries were used quiet succesfully on the finnish eastern frontline. (Source: O. Enqvist: Itsenäisen suomen rannikkotykit 1918-1998).

Hi all,

It is a British 9.2 in. (234 mm) Mk XIII railway gun, one of the two sent to France with the BEF and captured by the Germans near Dunkirk. I think I can read the word "Englisch" something as the first word on the back of the picture.

Jos,

There are some other information on this railway gun at the beginnig of the following post:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=110331

Since it was a railway gun "à glissement" according to Stephane Ferrard, it means that the gun could not rotate on the carriage unlike a "TAZ" ("tout azimut") railway gun.
