Railway guns of the Axis forces
Re: railwaygun ID
Thanks for your replies, Kurt and Emmanuel.
Which is the different between 305mm TM-2-12 and TM-3-12 guns?
On the other hand I found these three images on Ebay.
It seems a 28cm K5 (E) gun in Leningrad area, although I have some doubts about the third image.
Is it really the ammunition of a 28cm K5 (E) gun?

Re: railwaygun ID
Hello Sturm
I think both your picture's and the picture's of the 40 cm H (E) 752 (f) are taken near Leningrad
Eisenbahn Artillerie Abteilung 679 with the Eisenbahn-Artillerie-Batterie 686 (K 5) and Eisenbahn-
Artillerie-Batterie 695 (Kz.Br.K.)
Regards Jos

Re: railwaygun ID
With the crane at the rear in particular, I'll go with the 24 cm SK L/40 "Theodor Karl".

Re: railwaygun ID
Peter Adalbert should have an armoured plate surrounding the crew working area and the above picture does not have it.

Re: railwaygun ID
Unfortunately, we can see similar vertical plates on pictures of the 24 cm SK L/40 railway gun, for example in the book “Eisenbahnartillerie” by Guy François. And there are pictures of the 21 cm SK L/40 railway gun without these vertical plates.

Re: railwaygun ID
Looking closely at the last picture of the 21 cm SK l/45 "Peter Adalbert" at the bottom of the webpage http://www.kaisersbunker.com/cc/cc11.htm
I think it is actually a 24 cm SK L/40 "Theodor Karl": a big "box" that is found on the 24 cm is visible on top of the barrel near the trunnion and there does not seem to be the typical shield of the 21 cm "Peter Adalbert".
