Bunker for RAG-38

#1

Post by SES » 07 Mar 2007, 16:17

Hi,
I cannot recall if we have discussed this before, but I was made aware of this enrty on the "Equipment" page of AXIS.

"This was a anti-submarine project started late in the war. A 38cm Raketen-Tauch-Geschoss(same as Sturm Tiger) was mounted in a emplacement similar to the Coastal artillery. The idea was to attack submerged vessels near the coast. The test trials were not good, so the project wasn`t taken furter".

Does anyone have further details like bunker drawings or photos?

Hallo Ses

AFAIK the 38 cm RaG was used on a platform
just like Agdenes and Fano and not a bunker , but
I know you a little , you won't ask this for nothing .
The last week a lot of new things keep popping up .

Regards Jos

Hi,
Yes I had an ulterior motive. For a long time the bunkers attached have been spooking in Denmark. They are embedded in the landward side of a dike on Lolland. There are resistance reports that they were associated with rockets (agents saw some in the vicinity) and there has been speculations that the bunkers were the depot for rockets and the fire control. There is very thick glass in the windows. Does anyone have a positive ID or a good theory?

Hallo,
The photo of the RAGs is very impressive. Do you know where the photo was taken? It means the location of the RAGs?. The date of the photo? Is it known more details such as production code of the RAGs?
Regards Ludek
