Re: Westwall
Hello
We are planning to start in the westwall, are there some good maps where we can start with to see some typical westwall bunkertypes. perhaps a good kmz?
I'm looking on GE but it seems a lot of bunkers are covered up or blown in bits...
Regards

Hi Tom,
Saarland is really interesting.
When you start at Dillingen you have a nice piece of WW with a lot of different types with a lot of turrets in the area!
Greetings Jack.

Dear Jos,
Nearly five years after you posted this picture, the remains of this bunker might have been dug out during hydraulic construction works at the Rhine side near Neuenburg. I have created a documentation for the German "Denkmalschutz":

Thank you for sharing it. I guess you do not own this picture, right?
Best regards

Nice to see you here at the forum and welcome
Great to see the result of your research team there at the rhine for the first time in a document.
Anyway for the better understandment of your question I will post the picture you are talking about here, so it might be a bit more easy to help you without searching the whole treat about a unkwon picture from five years ago.
Greetings to the upper-rhine-valley and I hope we meet soon again.

Re: Westwall
Yes, very nice.
If i could see right the number is WH 374- and the Name "Moltke" is the same writing like other ones in the saarlouis area.
So we have here a Regelbau 115a
Thx for sharing!

Re: Westwall
is it (the 115) that big?! wow!
i found several on Google Earth, near Saarbrücken, but none of them seems to be open. Are there any (or at least one) nice 115 open for a visit near Saarbrücken?
Regards
Tom

Re: Westwall
Hi Tom,
no, there is no 115 open- all covered with earth... only the turrets can be seen sometimes
One 115a in Saarbrücken was used as Air-Raid-Shelter for the Civilprotection after the war- but not can be visit inside and
not many to see outside, but you can visit a 114b in Dillingen (Museum) or a 114a (Museum) in Beckingen
